|Job Title: National Tsetse & Trypanosomosis (T&T) Specialist|
FAO Ethiopia in close collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) will implement a project entitled “Developing national implementation capacities for the control of Tsetse and Animal African Trypanosomosis in Ethiopia, TCP/ETH/3702”. More specifically, the project will support MoA to build its capacity to develop and implement a progressive T&T control roadmap and strategy for Ethiopia. The tasks envisaged for this consultancy are to be carried out through the Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Disease (ECTAD), which is currently implementing a number of projects in Ethiopia. The ECTAD program in Ethiopia is an integral part of the broad Livestock and Pastoral Thematic Program (LPTP).
The National Tsetse & Trypanosomosis Consultant will be located within the National Institute for Control/Eradication of Tsetse and Trypanosomosis (NICETT) and work under the general guidance of the FAO Representative (FAO-R) in Ethiopia and will directly report to the head of the Livestock and Pastoralism Thematic Program, and works in close collaboration with the FAO programme in the country. The Consultant will be supported also by the Programme Against African Trypanosomosis (PAAT), and if possible and appropriate, also that the project itself is carried out in framework of PAAT.
